My three
posters illustrate the mind, with its primary left and right
brain, and the convergence of the two to create the mind of
the graphic designer. I used myself as the subject to give a
more personal representation of what I was trying to depict.
The left poster is the scientist, illustrated in binary code,
the language of computers. The scientist in us must be able
to understand the machines we use to create what we do. The
scientist must understand marketing to create effective designs
that target specific demographics, and is responsible for the
specific information contained in the design. The right poster
is the artist, illustrated in a sketched pencil style, with
more free flowing lines that better represent the imaginative
spirit of the artist. The artist in us is responsible for creating
visually appealing images that attract attention and draw people
in. The center poster is the convergence of the two halves into
the graphic designer, implementing elements of each to create
a cohesive overall design. |
